Dr John Glen BSc MBChB MRCP FRCA FFICM DRTM PGCME
John recently completed his training in anaesthetics and intensive care and is undertaking a 6 month EMRS fellowship prior to taking up a consultant post. Like most EMRS clinicians, John has an interest in safe systems and non-technical skills and he is also accredited in bedside echocardiography.
John is married to another intensivist and they will both soon be starting a new life in Wales!
Dr Christina Harry
Christina is in her final year of paediatric intensive care training. She has a keen interest in patient safety and paediatric critical care outreach.
Christina is a fan of sports and the great outdoors. She has recently discovered skiing and aims to get down slopes in a speedy manner that doesn't result in her requiring EMRS retrieval.
Dr Alastair Ross MB ChB FRCA
Alastair is an anaesthetic registrar currently training in the West of Scotland deanery. He graduated from Glasgow University in 2005 and has worked in various hospitals in the West of Scotland. He started a 6 month EMRS retrieval fellowship in February 2013 having worked with EMRS on a sessional basis since November 2011. Alastair has completed APLS & ATACC courses and is an ALS instructor. He has a keen interest in human factors and patient safety in healthcare.
Alastair is married and has a new baby daughter. His daughter is happily taking up a lot of his spare time and curtailing his usual free time activities but he is looking forward to teaching her all about SCUBA diving, cycling and skiing.
Dr Sue Hutton
Sue is an ST6 in Anaesthetics in the West of Scotland, based at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Her interests include cycling, canal narrowboats and church bellringing. She is at the forefront of Yorkshire's bid for world domination!
Dr Jayne McKinlay
Jayne is a trainee in military emergency medicine and is currently training via the South East Scotland deanery. She is a full time member of the Royal Navy and has recently deployed to Afghanistan where she rapidly learned skills in the management of adult and paediatric major trauma.
She is a fully trained ALS and ATLS instructor and enjoys teaching on both courses throughout Scotland.
Jayne enjoys running in her spare time and hopes to enjoy the live music scene in Glasgow during her brief sojourn to the west side.
Dr Laura Robertson
Laura is a senior anaesthetic trainee from the Greater Glasgow & Clyde training scheme. She has recently joined the Territorial Army and is planning and preparing to deploy to Afghanistan in 2013. She hopes to transfer some of her skills in trauma management to her job at the EMRS.
Her interests include research and academic medicine and she has recently postered at an international conference in Paris on the set up of critical care services in the central region of Scotland.
Laura is married and enjoys running and travelling in her spare time.
Dr David McKean MBChB MCEM
Dave is an Emergency Medicine trainee based at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
He graduated from Edinburgh University and continues to teach and examine undergraduate medical students there.
His specialist interests involve Prehospital Emergency Medicine and Retrieval Medicine as well as IT in healthcare.
He is the developer of our multi-award winning EMRS iOS App and is involved in the provision of similar apps across the UK and Australia.
Dave is married to Yvonne and enjoys eating out, and generally relaxing when he gets time off work!
